sounds screwed up

ok long story short...i used avast to update all my drivers on my computer. And i had alot to update.  Now the only problem i have is  my mic does not work. I have done everything i know what to do. I tried to find  the realtek drivers with no luck to reinstall...so i been working on this  for the  last 2 hours.. i give up. I do not know anything about computers... so if any of you have ideas to help... remmeber i have not  clue where to  go etc. If i need to do a teamviewer then i will.. but i have no clue

Not an expert myself,  but the first thing I would do is roll back or undo what you did with avast.  I would never use an outside program to update drivers.  You should have an option to undo it.  Or system restore to the day before you used avast for drivers.  I would start with that.  Hope it helps.

Ditto what Warman said. Let windows update the drivers Go into Device manage and delete all sound drivers. Reboot and let Windows download them again. "not responsible if doesn't work " or screws something else up.

Go to control panel,  click on hardware and sound,  device manager should be under devices and printers,  click on the device manager,  someone else can check me on this but drop down the  one that says sound, video, and game controllers,  right click on all that say audio and uninstall drivers.  might have to restart pc after that.  should automatically reinstall windows drivers.  Hope that helps,  Ill be on tonight.
